Fountain of St. James Court; or, Portrait of the Artist as an Old Woman The: A Novel, by Sena Jeter Naslund

New York Times bestselling author Sena Jeter Naslund explores the artistic processes and lives of creative women in her groundbreaking literary opus The Fountain of St. James Court; or Portrait of the Artist as an Old Woman.

Sena Jeter Naslund's inspiring novel-within-a-novel depicts the lives of both a fictional contemporary writer and a historic painter whose works now hang in the great museums of Europe and America.

The story opens at midnight beside a beautifully illumined fountain of Venus Rising from the Sea. Kathryn Callaghan has just finished her novel about painter Élisabeth Vigée-LeBrun, a survivor of the French Revolution hated for her sympathetic portraits of Marie Antoinette. Though still haunted by the story she has written, Kathryn must leave the eighteenth-century European world she has researched and made vivid in order to return to her own life as an American in 2012.

Naslund's spellbinding new novel presents the reader with an alternate version of The Artist: a woman of age who has created for herself, against enormous odds, a fulfilling life of thoroughly realized achievement.

From Booklist
In a lively and pointed variation on James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, popular and conceptually adventurous Naslund (Adam & Eve, 2010) portrays two women artists in a novel-within-a-novel. Successful writer Kathryn Callaghan lives in present-day Louisville, Kentucky, in a lovely, old neighborhood surrounding a fountain depicting “Venus Rising from the Sea,” a graceful embodiment of the novel’s inquiry into the obstacles confronting women artists. Battered by her third divorce yet buoyed by her neighbors and friends, Kathryn completes a novel about the brilliant and resolute French painter Élisabeth Vigée-Lebrun (1755–1842). After surviving childhood loss and a disastrous marriage to become a renowned portraitist, Élisabeth is forced into exile for her friendship with Marie Antoinette (the subject of Nasland’s novel, Abundance, 2006). It’s a challenge to match the powerfully rendered drama of Élisabeth’s historic struggles with Kathryn’s subtler suffering, and Naslund—who has Kathryn admire Virginia Woolf while striving to write “accessible” fiction—veers into contrivance and sentimentality. Still, this is an incisive and keenly pleasurable novel about women artists overcoming adversity to create “joyful work” that celebrates life’s beauty and wonder. --Donna Seaman

Review
“[A] lively and pointed variation on James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man…this is an incisive and keenly pleasurable novel about women artists overcoming adversity to create “joyful work” that celebrates life’s beauty and wonder.” (Booklist on THE FOUNTAIN OF ST JAMES COURT)

Sena Jeter Naslund’s eloquent language, her mastery of technique have the power to transport readers from the inner turmoil of a successful contemporary writer to the harsh realities of life among the splendor of eighteenth-century French society. The lyrical, poetic rendering of her prose is magical. (Alabama Writer's Forum News and Reviews on FOUNTAIN/PORTRAIT)

“[U]nexpectedly addictive. Naslund once again creates memorable characters, surprising scenarios and astute notions on living life with intention.” (Seattle Times on FOUNTAIN/PORTRAIT)

From the Back Cover

"Is it a crime to live? To create happiness for yourself through your own work?"

How do writers and painters get their ideas? And what are the hard realities of such seemingly glamorous and romantic lives? In her groundbreaking new novel, New York Times bestselling author Sena Jeter Naslund explores the transformative power of art, history, and love in the lives of creative women.

It's midnight on St. James Court, at the heart of which is a beautiful fountain sculpture of Venus rising from the sea. Kathryn Callaghan has just finished the first draft of her novel about renowned painter Élisabeth Vigée-Le Brun, a survivor of the French Revolution who was hated for her sympathetic portraits of Marie Antoinette. Although the manuscript is complete, its author remains haunted by Élisabeth's experiences, which are revealed in Sena Jeter Naslund's ingenious novel-within-a-novel interleaved with the chronicle of a day in the life of Kathryn Callaghan. Despite being separated by time, place, and culture, Kathryn and Élisabeth possess similar gifts and burdens: uncompromising aesthetic codes, fierce pride in their artistic expression, and unwavering love and sacrifice for their children. And before the next midnight rolls around, Kathryn will have confronted personal danger as frightening as the butchery that Élisabeth faced during the Reign of Terror. Each woman will be called upon and tested; each will, like Venus, rise triumphantly above the expectations of her world.

In this, her compelling and intimate ninth book, Sena Jeter Naslund presents the reader with an eye-opening alternate vision of The Artist: not an angry young man but a woman of age and hard-won experience who has created for herself, against enormous odds, a fulfilling life of thoroughly realized achievement.

A novel-in-a-novel about the crossroads between art and artist's lives
By Bookreporter
A couple of years ago, a friend of mine was on a kick of reading novels set in a single day. I wish Sena Jeter Naslund's latest, THE FOUNTAIN OF ST. JAMES COURT; OR, PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS AN OLD WOMAN, had been published back then, as it would have fit the bill perfectly. Plus, it has the added element of being a novel-within-a-novel, also always appealing to those of us who love books and reading and challenging plots.

Here Naslund sets a historical novel --- a sort of fictionalized autobiography of the 18th-century French artist Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun --- within a contemporary novel that takes place in a single day. The protagonist of the contemporary novel, Kathryn Callaghan, is the author of the other one. She has just finished the manuscript and dropped it off with her lifelong friend Leslie, who has recently moved to the Louisville, Kentucky, neighborhood of the book's title. The idea here is that we are reading Kathryn's novel at the same time Leslie is.

Either part of Naslund's novel could have been called PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS AN OLD WOMAN. Ryn isn't old, exactly, but is definitely getting up there in years and is unsure whether and how to move forward following completion of this most recent manuscript. She has lived through three failed marriages, the most recent of which ended within the last two years, and is tentatively ready to move on. But as she travels throughout her day, she finds her mind moving backwards in time more than forward, reflecting on those relationships that defined her life --- not only her romantic relationships but also (and particularly) the relationship with her son, Humphrey.

Humphrey is now grown and living with his husband in Sweden, much to Kathryn's simultaneous relief that Humphrey has found a nice partner and regret they're so far away. And a good thing, too, since Humphrey's abusive ex-boyfriend, Jerry, appears to be making an unwelcome appearance back in the seemingly tranquil atmosphere of Old Louisville.

This rising suspense is set alongside the even more turbulent life events of Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun, the subject of Kathryn's recently completed novel. Having had her talent identified at an early age by her father (who dies while Elisabeth is still a child), Elisabeth is emboldened to pursue her art at a time when few female painters were recognized or celebrated. Ryn's first-person narration of Elisabeth's life is rather formal and could grow tiresome if not broken up as it is here, but the drama of her life and her friendship with Marie Antoinette (the subject of Naslund's earlier novel, ABUNDANCE) is undeniable.

Naslund's title is obviously a homage to James Joyce, but in reality, her novel is much more a tribute to the work of Virginia Woolf, particularly MRS. DALLOWAY and TO THE LIGHTHOUSE, both of which are referenced numerous times in the contemporary portions of the book. What factors in a woman's life enable her to pursue art? the novel considers. And how have those factors changed --- or not --- in the more than 200 years between Elisabeth's maturation as an artist and Ryn's maturation as a writer? Depending on their tastes and sympathies, readers are likely to respond more to one portion of this novel-within-a-novel than the other. Still, any reader who has considered the intersection of art and (women) artists' lives will find something that speaks to her here.

Love Sena Jeter Naslund
By Rikhit Arora
First, I LOVE this author and have read many of her books. Ahab's Wife is one of my all time favorite books by any author. So I was anxiously awaiting this new book. I read it, and enjoyed the descriptions, and the characters, and the complexity - but it feels a teensy bit "navel-gazing" and autobiographic in a self important kind of way. To give the author the credit she is due, it is entirely possible that I am missing some deep point she is intending with this introspective, slightly defensive (???) mood, but for me it was off-putting.

A Hard Read
By WestMetroMommy
Review originally published on my blog at westmetromommy.blogspot.com
2.5 Stars

I have to be honest...this book was a chore for me to read. There is much to commend this book. Naslund has a beautifully poetic style and a very introspective point of view. I also really loved the "within" story of Elisabeth Vigee-LeBrun. I think if this book had just been that story, this would have rated among the best books I've read this year.

For me the problem was with Kathryn's story, which is the more substantial of the two storylines. I was never able to connect with Kathryn and, frankly, I felt that nothing really happened in her part of the book. While I enjoy character-driven novels, I do think there should be some plot and that seemed to be missing with Kathryn.

Part of my inability to relate to Kathryn might be circumstantial. She is a 70 year old woman and most of her story is about her looking back on her life. I still have a few decades to go before I reach that point so I just couldn't find any anchor with her. I am planning to have my mother, who is much closer to Kathryn's age, to give this book a try to see if her experience differs from mine.

This is not a book that would turn me off any other works by Sena Jeter Naslund--as I said, I found her prose to be just lovely. But this one was really an uphill battle for me.

The Oxford Handbook of Management Theorists (Oxford Handbooks), by Morgen Witzel, Malcolm Warner

Concurrent with the increasing complexity of the field of management, the need to re-examine the foundations from which its theories have advanced has become ever more important and useful. The Oxford Handbook of Management Theorists examines and evaluates the contributions that seminal figures, past and present, have made to the theory of management by providing in-depth, up-to-date, and detailed scholarly analysis of their ideas and influence.

Chapters by leading management and management history scholars explore the origins of each thinker or school of thought and their ideas, and discuss the significance and influence in a broader framework. The Handbook contextualises each theorist and their theories, analysing their actions, interactions, and re-actions to contemporary events and to each other. It is arranged in three parts: pioneers of management thinking from Frederick Taylor to Chester Barnard; post-war theorists, such as the
Tavistock Institute and Edith Penrose; and the later phase of Business School theorists, including Alfred Chandler, Michael Porter, and Ikujiro Nonaka.

This book will be essential reading for anyone interested in how and why management ideas have emerged, and the ways in which they are currently developing and will evolve in the future.

Everyone has read about history’s most important people and events in dense textbooks and classrooms, but words can only say so much. In Charles River Editors’ Interactive History series, history comes to life in video and audio, allowing people to not only read history but truly experience it, through the eyes and ears of the people who were there.

Today every American is taught about watershed moments in the history of minorities’ struggles for civil rights over the course of American history: the Civil War, Brown v. Board of Education, Rosa Parks’ refusal to give up her seat, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Indeed, the use of the phrase “Civil Rights Movement” in America today almost invariably refers to the period of time from 1954-1964.

However, the American Civil Rights Movement actually came into existence long before it is presumed to have done so. The Movement's primary work was slow, evolving, gradual and long-term. Its more glamorous moments, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955–1956), the Selma to Montgomery March (1965), and the March on Washington (1963), mainly were supplemental to the all-important grassroots work already going on in communities, churches, legislatures and courts. The nascent stages of the Movement actually began far earlier, among abolitionists and the the writings and activism of Frederick Douglass and others.

The Civil Rights Movement also included counternarratives led by activists like Malcolm X, who pointed out that Brown v. Board may have demanded integration, but it did not implement it. Insisting that politely asking the government for civil rights was futile, Malcolm X represented the face of the civil rights movement that demanded stronger words and action than nonviolent protest.

An Interactive History of the Civil Rights Movement comprehensively covers the struggle for civil rights in the United States, remembering its most famous and memorable events but also highlighting its lesser known ups and downs on the path to equality. Along with video and pictures of the important people, places, and events, you will learn about the Civil Rights Movement like never before.

Factual, clear and to the point.

I learnt a lot about the civil rights movement without getting into a long, heavy, thick or boring book. The language was simple and fine for a non-historian like me who wanted a general overview on the Civil Rights Movement without being forced to read a book that was designed for someone completing a Master's degree.

This book is marginally interactive
By Mary O.
All that the publisher has done to create this "Interactive" history is to take their very dry history of the Civil Rights Movement and add a few videos taken straight out of "Eyes on the Prize". I would expect more primary source photographs and reading material in a good history of the Civil Rights Movement.

Major General Maurice Rose: World War II's Greatest Forgotten Commander, by Stephen L. Ossad, Don R. Marsh

Major General Maurice Rose (1899-1945), commander of 3rd Amored, First Army's legendary "Spearhead" division, was the highest-ranking American Jewish officer ever killed in battle, and the only individual casualty to spark a War Crimes Investigation. This, the first and only biography of this important World War II figure, tells the dramatic story of Rose's life—-from his childhood as a son of a rabbi, through his experiences in World War I and in the U.S. cavalry, to his meteoric rise as America's answer to Rommel. In 1943, Rose negotiated and accepted the surrender of the German Army in Tunisia, the first large-scale surrender to an American force during World War II. At the Battle of Carentan in June 1944, he saved the 506th Parachute Infantry (of Band of Brothers fame), and might very well have saved the entire Normandy beachhead from a catastrophic German counterattack. His brilliant, daring, and aggressive defensive tactics during the Battle of the Bulge prevented an enemy breakthrough to the Meuse River and beyond, thereby frustrating the German advance.
Based on original archival research and exclusive interviews, this biography shatters old myths and factual distortions, and offers a refreshingly inquisitive and critical perspective. Steven L. Ossad and Don R. Marsh reveal new insights into Rose's controversial death—-was he killed because he was Jewish or because he went for his weapon?—-and about the even more controversial investigations that followed. As compelling and extraordinary as the life that it describes, this biography pays long-overdue tribute to one of America's greatest heroes.

From Publishers Weekly
Given the paucity of material General Maurice Rose left behind about anything except his impressive military achievements, this fine biography of a distinguished American commander, the highest-ranking American Jewish officer ever killed in battle, represents a considerable success. Commissioned into the Army during World War I, Rose (b. 1899) was wounded in action at St. Mihiel; then, after a short stint as a traveling salesman, he returned to the peacetime army as a captain. When World War II broke out, he rose rapidly, commanding the first armored formations to hit the beaches in Sicily and Normandy and putting into action his belief that "it was only by visible acts of personal courage and public demonstrations of bravery that a leader can inspire his men and imbue them with fighting spirit." Ashore in France, he was given command of the Third Armored Division and led it ably (if not perfectly) through the Battle of the Bulge and into Germany, where he was killed in action in March, 1945, possibly after surrendering. The authors, a WWII veteran and a military historian, also discuss the question of why Rose, who came from a distinguished family of rabbis, chose to list himself as a Christian with the army, a decision they suggest was motivated by Rose's career ambitions and his laissez-faire attitude towards religious matters. Though the authors' prose is often stilted, they provide a worthy, informative account of a curious and little-documented career.

Review
In this outstanding, first-rate biography, Ossad and Marsh have chronicled the life of an authentic American hero. Their thorough investigation reveals, for the first time, a full account of Rose's untimely death in 1945. Highly recommended. (Carlo D'Este, best-selling author of Eisenhower: A Soldier's Life and Patton: A Genius for War)

A complete and compelling narrative that covers the brilliant career of Major General Maurice Rose, from his roots in Colorado, through his service on the Mexican border and during World War I, and culminating in his leadership of one of World War II's finest fighting outfits, the 3rd Armored Division. (Gerald Astor, author of The Greatest War: Americans in Combat, 1941-1945 and The Right to Fight: A History of African Americans in th)

One thing that cannot be disputed is that Rose was an outstanding U.S. Army division commander and a kindred spirit to Lt. Gen George S. Patton Jr. and Major General J. Lawton "Lightning Joe" Collins. Major General Maurice Rose pays overdue homage to what he and his troops achieved―and the research that made it possible stands as an equally impressive achievement. (World War II)

About the Author
Steven L. Ossad lives in New York City. Don R. Marsh, a World War II veteran who served under General Rose, lives in Tustin, California. Martin Blumenson, editor of The Patton Papers and author of Patton: The Man Behind the Legend, 1885-1945, lives in Washington, D.C.

Investigative History at its Finest
By T. Berner
It is, by definition, impossible to determine the "Greatest Forgotten Commander" of any war, but if the authors have not managed the feat indisputably, the life of General Rose has set the barrier so high that one is hard put to think of a "remembered" commander who is so great. To this day, the division he commanded holds the record for the longest opposed advance in a single day.

The life of Maurice Rose is truly inspirational, but what few personal effects remained of his life were almost completely destroyed in a flood. Messrs. Ossad and Marsh have performed a spectacular feat of bringing this important personage alive. There is much of the inner man we can never know, of course, and much of the book is pure military history as it should be, but you get enough of a glimpse of the man to get a sense of what he was like. The authors do not hesitate to criticize his flaws, but that honesty just makes the man that much more impressive.

The authors "bookend" the story with a detailed description of the General's last day (although at least two U.S. generals more senior to Rose and two other division commanders were killed during World War II, to my knowledge, Rose is unique at that rank to have been killed by small arms fire rather than bombs or artillery, a tribute to the General's habit of "leading from the front"). I would have liked a little more information about the fate of the division after the General was killed, but that is available elsewhere.

The general's conversion from Judaism to Christianity is speculated upon in some detail, but the willingness to redefine oneself is uniquely American and it is one of the things which make General Rose a uniquely American hero.

Great book about a little-remembered General
By Robert K. Pacios
Maurice Rose, a tall, handsome soldier was a stand-offish person with those around him. No one in the 3rd Armored Division really got to know much about his personal life. Married twice, he kept his life so secret that his two sons, by different wives, did not know the other existed until many years after some digging by one of the authors.
Rose was a brave man, single-minded, whose only mission was to defeat the Nazis as quickly and as throughly as possible. Whether that was due to his Jewish background (which he seemed to shun) or not is problematical. He demanded absolute loyalty from his men. He would not accept any excuse from any of his subordinate commanders -- accomplish your mission or move on!
This book sheds a lot of light on the man whom General J. Lawton Collins regarded "as the top notch division commander in the business at the time of his death." I heartily recommend it especially to those who are interested in the fighting in North-west Europe during WWII.

A very good read
By J. Robert Ewbank
This is a solid book by Michael. It is interesting to me that two people can write a book, and such a good book. This book covers a fairly short period of time, from college friendships to ten to fifteen years of marriages etc. It shows how these friendships can mature or not, depending upon the person and how they handle experiences. Good characters, good plot, good reading.

J. Robert Ewbank author "John Wesley, Natural Man, and the Isms" "Wesley's Wars" "To Whom It May Concern" and "Tell me about the United Methodist Church"

When are the Interstates considered Backroads in Texas?
By Jon Black
This book was VERY dissapointing. When I began noticing that the Interstates are included in many of the routes, I quit looking at it. All of the photos are small and in black and white -- many appear old. The route maps are a joke. I wish I could send it back and get my money refunded. The title is VERY misleading. Jon Black

Discovering the back roads and towns of Texas away from the interstate
By Joe Owen
The Backroads of Texas is a handy guidebook if you want to discover the small towns and off beaten roads that are throughout Texas. There are more than 15000 miles of roads throughout the Great State of Texas, and many are small dirt, farm, ranch roads, or highway roads that go through unique small towns with rich history. This book lists the small roads that lead thru these interesting towns and highlights their history and unique things to see. There are previous reviewers who for some reason or another are not satisfied with this book and what it entails. These are the type of reviewers who are probably wanting the book to be like Fodor's or something similiar, and that is why if you are looking for that kind of information that lists all there is like restaurants, hotels, tours, and a little history then this is not the book for you. However, if you are into little trips that you can take that are away from the main cities and towns, then this is very handy to have. Is it accurate? Well, things change, roads close, towns change so it is accurate enough. Is it useful to have and fun to read? Absolutely YES!
"No matter if it's a Sunday drive or a trek across the state, this guide is your key to the marvelous things you will see along the way. Travelers will find scenery for every interest." - the description of the book from the back cover.
I agree with the above statement of the book, and my favorite routes are in the Hill Country of Texas, and the far west Texas roads you can discover. This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED book for those who are into discovering the unique places of the unknown little towns of Texas!

Amazon.com Review
Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi pull off an impressive five for five with Wrath of Mulgarath, the satisfyingly dramatic conclusion to their series, The Spiderwick Chronicles. After the gory conclusion of the The Ironwood Tree, we don't get even a moment's reprieve before the action picks up again, in a starting chapter entitled, fittingly, "IN WHICH the World Is Turned Upside Down." Thirteen-year-old Mallory and nine-year-old twins Jared and Simon return to the Spiderwick Estate only to find their home in shambles, with trash and broken furniture scattered across the lawn and Simon's griffin chasing a "goblin" across the roof. The faerie world that the Grace kids have so slowly probed in this series has finally come home to roost. Black and DiTerlizzi pack a lot into the finale of this beautifully produced series, with dragons and goblins and elves--and even a magical cameo by Arthur Spiderwick (the long-lost author of the disappearing-reappearing Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You). We get a dramatic rescue, a clever end to a fearsome foe (with some thanks to Hogsqueal from book two), and a long denouement that leads to a final cryptic note from the author and illustrator: "Are there more ogres / and dragons to slay? / Is there more mayhem, / perhaps, on the way? / Ask Tony and Holly. / They'll swear that it's true. / But you still won't believe / what's coming for you!" (Ages 6 to 10) --Paul Hughes

Review
"With their evocative gothic-style pencil drawings and color illustrations, rhyming riddles, supernatural lore, and well-drawn characters, these books read like old-fashioned ripping yarns."

-- "New York Times Book Review"

"Appealing characters, well-measured suspense and an inviting package will lure readers...Youngsters may well find themselves glancing over their shoulders."

-- "Publishers Weekly, " starred review

"The books wallow in their dusty Olde Worlde charm: Faeries! Dumbwaiters! Attics! But then, reading has an old-fashioned charm too."

-- "Time" magazine

From the Publisher
The fifth and final book in the first Spiderwick series!

Through field, cave, and forest
this tale has been spun.
And three must now finish
what malice has begun.

One will bear sword,
and one will rule sky,
but one has the answer
hidden deep down inside --

an answer for anger,
a balm against rage,
freedom for a captive,
and the cure for a sage.

See who is standing
when you turn the last page.

The Final Installment of the Spiderwick Chronicles
By Cory D. Shaw
Another excellent series for children! Join Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace as they come to the end (or is it? at least for this series) of their adventures into the faerie world. Guided by their mysterious uncle's sketch book the heroes and heroine of these stories will finally come face to face with the biggest, baddest, and meannest of the faeries, The Ogre Mulgarath! The first 4 in this series of five openned my eyes to a wonderful world of enchantment and I can't wait to see how it comes to an end.

In which a series ends in a surprising fashion
By J.A.
Once again artist and author team up and deliver a rewarding story. The three children are given their most frightful and challenging test yet, as when they return home they find that the house has been ransacked and much out of place - including the Field Guide *and* their mother. Her loss devastates the children, as they have no idea how to find or free her. Then they happen upon Hogsqueal (or, rather, Byron happens upon him) and learn that he can lead them to Mulgarath's Palace where they hope to find and free their mother.

Along the way they are met with gruesome sights, and perform tasks they never could have imagined themselves doing in a hundred years, and their mettle is tested severely. None more so than that of Jared. But Jared has studied the Field Guide, and even though it is no longer in his possession, his memory serves him well. So does Arthur Spiderwick, who makes a brief appearance and offers most useful advice.

The ending began to seem typical, with Mulgarath in control and speaking of the how's and why's of his desire for domination. Even though his desire to speak has been explained earlier, it is a little tedious for too many "bad guys", i.e., Dark Lords and whatnot, do exactly this. However, the denouement is unique, original, and it made me laugh.

This was truly a delightful book, from beginning to end. The writing is top notch, and I can't say enough about the art. The book dips into darkness, rises into light, dips back into darkness and offers truly ghastly portraits that should keep kids on the edge of their seats and wishing their nightlights burned brighter. Also, I loved the character of Thimbletack, both how he was written and how he spoke. The rhyming was charming and delightful.

And the rhyme at the end of the book was most entertaining. I am looking forward to its fulfillment.

The Thrilling Conclusion to The Spiderwick Chronicles
By Erika Sorocco
The Grace children - Mallory, Jared, and Simon are back, but this time they are trying to save their beloved Mother who has been captured by the evil Mulgarath. With the help of Uncle Arthur's Guidebook to the Faerie World, as well as elves, and Hogsqueal, a sneaky hobgoblin, the three siblings set out to defeat Mulgarath for the last time. However, the children know that they have only a short time to save their Mother, before Mulgarath harms her, so they set their minds to do just that.

Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black have created a remarkable conclusion to THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES with THE WRATH OF MULGARATH. The three Grace children - Mallory, Jared, and Simon are braver than ever. While the adventure that they embark on is outlined in an extremely vivid and descriptive way. Filled with wonderful twists and turns on every page, as well as gorgeous black and white sketches, this is sure to be loved by all.
