Too often we tell students what to do, and we don't teach them the skills for solving their own problems. If you follow the guidelines in this book, you can learn the skills to approach difficult conversations with students so that the result is both learning and change. The skills are congruent with cognitive problem solving, and will support such interventions as PBIS and Check & Connect.
