Integrating Young Adult Literature Through the Common Core Standards

Integrating Young Adult Literature Through the Common Core Standards is an excellent choice for a class required for English majors seeking licenses to teach E/LA in grades 7-12. This textbook clearly defines and scaffolds instruction related to text complexity and close reading with attention to how these elements relate to CCSS while many other textbooks only mention CCSS or do not explain to teacher candidates (and teachers, as well) how they can use YA literature to address CCSS. I will select this text again for next semester's YA class.

This book has every. single. detail. needed to connect the library skills with curriculum skills...almost to tedious to want to read, but very informative and a go to for questions that can be answered in meticulous detail. Actually, when I think about it, an excellent reference book to have on hand.
