Always fun to read

Again another book by John with "I went and fished here - and life is like that- and the more I talk about this fly fishing thing - the more you the reader will smile and want to go fishing" I'd say that's a successful book and author.

First rate reading!

Having recently slogged through some fly fishing books that were ok and in some cases less than ok, I decided to read one of the books from my John Gierach collection that I had not previously read. What a breath of fresh air. Such great, witty writing. I know taste in books is quite subjective but if you're a fly fisherman I would suggest that you can't go wrong to pick any one of this author's books and give it a try. You may end up wanting the entire collection.

I laughed quite a bit at the chapter on the Fishing Car. I too had an uncle like Gierach's "Uncle Leonard". This is one of my favorite chapters in all of his books! Oh...the book was handed down to me from my deceased brother in law (R.I.P.) who first told me about Gierach. That is why it is not an Amazon verified purchase.
